Although she was from the royal family of Gwalior, she was a lady of classes and the masses with a rare charisma arround  her. Her special area of Interest was social service and education for all. she was among the founders of Sishu Mandir, Scindia Kanya Vidhyalaya Gwalior, Samrat Ashok Technological Institute Vidisha (M.P.) and Madhav Institute of Technology and scince Gwalior. She had written one of the best seller Autobiography, 'The Last Maharani of Gwalior and Princes', published in U.S.A. and U.K.
