Madhav Rao Scindia ,son of Maharaja Jivajirao Scindia was born in
the house of royal family on 10th March 1945. Initial
Schooling was done at Scindia School, Gwalior and he went for
higher studies to prestigious Winchester College Oxford U.K. . He
was married to Maharani Madhavi Raje Scindia on 8th May
1966. The royal family was blessed with son Jyotiraditya Scindia
and daughter Chitrangada Scindia.
A born Maharaja with very
broad outlook he was a man of class and masses with a rare
charisma. He spent his whole life for the welfare of the people,
the one of best example was his ministerial skill as the Railway
minister which has led the Indian Railway to a new high. He was
very fond of playing cricket and he headed the Indian Control
board for several years. He remained as the Chairman for different
educational organizations, the few of them are : Scindia
School ,Gwalior Impeccably dressed and softly spoken Maharaja maintained his reputation as one of the India's most sophisticated politician and he remained as the member of Parliament for the 9 consecutive terms until his sad demise in the plane crash on 30th September 2001. |
